Dr. Junhua Xiao is currently NHMRC/MSRA Betty Cuthbert Fellow at Centre for Neuroscience, The University of Melbourne, Australia. She is also an honorary research fellow of Florey Neuroscience Institutes, Australia. Completing her PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2005, Junhua Xiao undertook her post-doctoral studies at Centre for Neuroscience, The University of Melbourne, where she continued her studies in cellular and molecular neuroscience with focuses upon glial cell biology. The lab is primarily interested in understanding the mechanisms that control the normal myelin development and myelin repair, aiming to identify molecules that can be targeted or modulated for the repair of human demyelinating diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. These works have lead to several awards and research project grant from difference funding bodies. Junhua Xiao has recently taken on a leadership role within the laboratory.
